The Oscars 2020: My Favorite Nominees

For years, The Oscars have been my favorite award show and for 2020, they aren't slowing down. Each year, between my family and friends, all bets go in and this year is no different. On February 9th, we will see who is the most awarded film or actor.
Until then, let's see who some of my favorite Nominees are:

The film that has received most nominations to date is Todd Phillips' Joker, followed almost immediately by Once Upon A Time In Hollywood by Quintin Tarantino.

Everyone loves a good whodunit story. Knives Out is up for a nomination in the Best Original Screenplay category. Written, produced, and directed by Rian Johnson, it also received Best Original Screenplay nominations at the 73rd British Academy Film Awards and 92nd Academy Awards.

As for actors, having just won a SAG Award for Best Supporting Actor in Once Upon A Time In Hollywood, we have Brad Pitt, who is looking to scoop up the Oscar for the same role. I'm hopeful for this nod, as I've been slightly obsessed with Brad Pitt since I first saw him in Thelma and Louise.

Joaquin Phoenix is up for a Best Actor award for this role as Arthur Fleck in Joker. That's no surprise as Joker was the most successful film this past year. I still have yet to find the right words to describe his role and his dedication to Arthur in this film.

It's a double nomination for Scarlett Johansson this year as she is in the running for Best Supporting Actress for Marriage Story and Best Actress in the New Zealand comic film set in Nazi Germany, Jojo Rabbit.

Last up on my list of favorites, nominated for a Best Supporting Actress Oscar is Margot Robbie for her role in Bombshell where she plays Kayla Pospisil, the producer of the television channel in which Donald Trump at the time of his elections, is accused of misogyny.
