It's Never Been Easier To Mix And Match Prints

It's called Power Clashing. One of the easiest trends to look forward to this Spring. We all know that bold prints are out there, and most of us have a closet full of them, but it's how to make them work together that can be tricky. Today, lets look at how to mix prints to create the ultimate power look.

Now, I know the thought of mixing clashing patterns can be a major stressor, so hopefully with this post I can prove that pulling off this trend is totally doable.

Try out prints that are similar in design. These bold 'spots' in the skirt totally play up this leopard print clutch.

Florals are definitely some of the toughest patterns to mix up. A tip that always works for doubling up on these delicate patterns is to opt for one print (here her skirt) and one multicolor print that picks up the first color (this would be her printed blouse).

Another excellent example of mixing two of the same style prints can be seen here. Checkers in different colours and sizes help to create a compelling contrast.

Still unsure of mixing prints? Then go completely monochrome. You're still playing it safe, but proves that when you stick to classics like black and white, you can take on just about any mixed prints.

Lastly, start with the bolder of the prints (in this image, her skirt) that you want to make the star and pick out one color from its pattern. As for the second print, opt for a more delicate design that utilizes that first shade, for this one, her vintage inspired blue blouse.
