It's All In The Jeans

Whether you're one to cling to dark skinny jeans or you practically live in baggy boyfriends {that's me, American Eagle Outfitters No. 8937}, there is no shame in wearing your favorite pair of jeans over again and again. But if you’re like most women, you probably own a few denim styles that don’t see much of the light of day, mostly because you simply don't know what to wear them with. Everyone looks good in jeans, everyone. But few people really know how to embrace  the effortlessness that comes with styling your denim. You can wear them with anything and for nearly any occasion, if done correctly. Here are some fresh and stylish ways to wear every kind of jean out there.

The Boyfriend:

The boyfriend jean is a casual style that can be worn with a rolled cuff for a cropped look. Boyfriend jeans look best when slouchy, distressed and a little scuffed up, kinds like a boy's style.
They will look great if done right. The color, wash, and cut will look good on all, dressed up with a pair of your most chic heels, a blazer and a blouse or down with a pair of sandals and a plaid shirt, casually tucked in.

The Skinny:

The skinny jean phenomenon is an undeniable trend. Skinny jeans have a snug fit through the legs and end in a small leg opening. Wear these jeans with a pair of sleek pointy toe flats, classic sneakers or slip-on kicks and a slouchy tee for a cute, casual day-off look or with a fabulous pair of ankle boots as we here on the west coast can typically wear boots all year long.

Bootcut:

An updated version of the 1960's bell bottom, the bootcut jean. This style of jeans tapers down to the knee then then loosens around the ankle to accommodate a boot. Bootcut jeans are perfect for every day wear and an easy style to dress up at night with a pointy boot or heel for more definition.

The Trouser Jean:

Trouser jeans resemble the look of the classic dress pants. They're fitted at the hips and drape loosely away from the thighs and legs. This look is classic, versatile and totally old-school. Bring this look up-to-date with a tucked in blouse, a statement necklace and a stylish pair of heels.
