Back To Basics - White Shoes
When it comes to basics, white shoes are a MUST for your wardrobe! They're just as versatile as your go-to black or nude pair, but they'll give your outfit a more fresher feel. White shoes have the ability to add a laid-back approach to bold prints and a powerful pop to my favorite look, monochrome. Depending on the look you want to achieve, seek out clean lines, delicate lace or ankle straps to keep your pair feeling modern.

Seven Reasons Why You Don’t Need Money To Be Stylish

In 2010, we all scoffed when then “Real Housewives of New York” star LuAnn de Lesseps released a single called “Money Can’t Buy You Class.” While the track was, indeed, quite laughable (if a teeny-tiny bit catchy), it turns out the countess might have been onto something, especially when it comes to fashion. Yes ladies, money can’t buy you style either.
Obviously, anyone with a credit card can look fashionable. Very few people though—credit cards or not—can be considered women of genuine style. Take someone like Kim Kardashian. The reality star has gone from no style to constantly stepping out in high-fashion outfits that even editors are itching to copy. She looks good, sure, but there’s something about her transformation that screams “I understand fashion now, everyone!” as opposed to an organic shift in how she wants to present herself to the world.

Similarly—thanks to today’s rampant street style and Instagram culture—we’re inundated with young women whose sources of income are dubious, but always seem to be in possession of up-to-the-minute items from Céline, Stella McCartney, Givenchy, Chanel, and other top-level labels, which often leads us to wonder whether many of these women would be considered truly stylish without the pricey labels.
Look, don’t get us wrong: We love nice things. There’s nothing better than treating yourself to a piece by a designer you truly love, that you know you’re going to proudly use for years to come. The problems arise, however, when you start feeling less-than because you can’t participate in the more-more-more cycle of having the new “It” items season after season.
Well, guess what? You don’t really require them to look amazing. To convince you, here are 7 reasons why you don’t need money to be stylish.

 Spring 2014 Wardrobe Basics

The mornings are still chilly and crisp, after all it IS only February. But in the retail world, Spring is starting to arrive in all the lovely local shops! So, lets start with the basics as you can wear them now on the warmer winter afternoons with a stylish sweater or cardigan!

Good quality tee shirts and tanks can form the basis of an incredible outfit. Often, I'll take inspiration from our West Coast, a laid-back but pulled together look.

Lets talk about the cut. If you are looking to elongate your neck, the best cuts for you will be scoop necks and v-necks. Any cut that takes a plunge is going to make your neck look longer, but one that ends right under your throat can sometimes be unflattering. What I'm saying is letting your collarbones show is very sexy, most say more sexy than showing off your cleavage because you just give a hint of bare skin minus the clichéd and the obvious.

Scoop necks and v-necks are very casual and can be worn just with your favorite pair of jeans, capris, shorts or even a mini skirt. If you are looking for a more formal look, try a square-neck tee. These tees are best paired with dress pants or a pencil skirt. With this look, you will find balance between the broadening effect of the square neck on the top as they are more narrow on your bottom half.

Some styles of tanks fit differently than others and I have found that sometimes you might have to get them a size bigger than you need just to make sure that they're long enough. If they are a bit loose on the sides, you can fix that with an extra layer and still keep yourself intact. Length is key as this will give you a much more pulled together look and a nicer shape. When shopping for tanks, pay attention to the fabrics as lycra always seems to have the uncanny ability of making the tank cling to your body in places you'd rather it didn't. Always try to opt for pure cotton tanks.

Use of colour is just as important as the fit of your tees and tanks. Colours that I recommend for these basics are black, navy, slate grey, white and cream. These are the most useful colours then it comes to your wardrobe as they go with almost everything. I have found that a good fitting tee is hard to find, so if you find one, pick up another in a different colour, this way you will still love the style but can use them for different occasions.

Patterns or no patterns. Well, I am not a huge fan of just patterns as they can be a bit overwhelming on a tee but I do love my vintage Guns 'N Roses, Micheal Jackson and Rolling Stones rock 'n roll tees. How can anyone not enjoy them?
Wear these tees with a good pair of jeans, heels or boots you'll look cool, casual and show that you have a good sense of flair and fun which is always attractive!

Stack It On

Stacked bracelets don't have to be just one type of bracelet, they can be many. The term 'stacked bracelets' can involve every sort of bracelet you can imagine. When you wear stacked bracelets, the trick is to combine multiple styles and layering several different types of bracelets on one wrist or forearm in a 'stacked' fashion.
The style of wearing multiple bracelets allows you to experiment with different dimensions, sizes, metals and colours and is defined by a sense of whimsy and dynamism.
Some of you that wear stacked bracelets may only wear a few, while others (like me on most days off) may wear enough to cover most of your forearm.

What's the most essential part of wearing stacked bracelets? It's creating a flowing array of pieces and a dynamic look when selecting your bracelets. Some of my favorite types of bracelets are beaded bracelets and bangles with a West Coast vibe that I have collected from Aldo Accessories, Bliss Boutique, American Eagle Outfitters, Amelia Lee Boutique, Forever 21, a piece I picked up in Egypt and a silver Urban piece from my Aunt.

I am dying to check out a new designer from Violette Boutique, Gorjana Reidel!
'The line offers classic and chic earrings, rings, bracelets and necklaces at an attainable price point.  Her husband’s East Coast upbringing and her West Coast lifestyle inspired her to fuse easy breezy costal influences with the sophistication and polish of East Coast trends.'

What's great about this trend that sure doesn't seem to be going anywhere anytime soon? MEN are embracing the style!

Wear your stacked bracelets... Stack 'em high. It's an exciting trend that will bring a lot of dynamism to your daily ensembles and find a style that works for you.
