Keep It Layered

Our temperatures are now dropping to below zero at night and I am seeing flurries in the local forecast every other day, here are some great tips for layering it up to keep you warm.

I am sure that some of you are afraid to layer up your clothes just from the fact that you may look bigger than you truly are, but if you have tried layering and have pulled the look off, you know that you couldn't have been more wrong! I love layering and have mastered the look and found my favorite pieces from American Eagle Outfitters, Forever 21, Buffalo David Bitton, Bliss Boutique, H&M, Miss Bliss Boutique & Amelia Lee Boutique! A correctly layered outfit will not only compliment the curves that you may have, but the look will still create the illusion of a more proportioned silhouette.

Using blazers as a layering piece is a great way to keep cozy without adding too much bulk!
This look is from Lark & Sparrow Boutique located in Cook Street Village.

Here are some amazing tips from Lauren Conrad's website:

5 Steps to a Perfectly Layered Outfit
Start with a basic, lightweight top. I suggest a solid, something neutral, or striped.
Add another layer such as a soft cardigan or sweater. If you’re into color, this can be a great opportunity to mix in a bold pullover to give your outfit more intrigue and depth.
Then add a jacket or coat. Again, I suggest a basic color: camel, black, navy, or even olive green.
Next, add a scarf. It’s like the frosting on a cupcake. A must!
Sprinkle on your accessories (bracelets, rings, watches).

Give Me Lemons

A New Year, A New You

Lemon water rocks! Lemons are packed with natural vitamins and minerals that are key to your overall health and will help you to glow inside and out. Do you drink lemon water?
After learning about the huge amount of health benefits associated with drinking water and freshly squeezed lemon juice, I decided to make it a part of my every day diet. Depending on how I am feeling that day, I drink it warm or cold!

Here are some great reasons why you should pair water with lemons:
It's a natural energizer. It hydrates and oxygenates your body so you feel revitalized and refreshed.
It's cleansing. According to an online news link, the citric acid in lemons helps maximize enzyme function, which stimulates the liver and aids in detoxification. YES!
It aids in digestion. Not only will this killer combination relive indigestion, it will also help flush you out.
