Amazing Health And Beauty Uses For Coconut Oil

Never mind that it's found in the kitchen, coconut oil has become the most obsessed about natural beauty staple out there. If someone were to tell me that there was just one product that could solve a dozen of health and beauty issues, a few years ago, I most likely wouldn’t have believed them.

Well, the word is out about coconut oil and its amazingness.
Fortunately, a bunch of lovely of beauty brands are now including high-quality coconut oil in more sophisticated and easy to find bottled forms. Thanks to them, that makes it just that much easier to reap the benefits.
And for good reason: coconut oil is antibacterial and anti fungal, it’s an excellent moisturizer, it can penetrate hair better than other oils and, well, it smells exotic and sensual, like a tropical dream.

Coconut oil is something I use almost every day on my skin, my hair, and in the kitchen. I have found that when a friend comes asking for a quick beauty fix or a hair problem, my answer is “coconut oil.” Now that you know a little bit about my beauty secrets with coconut oil, I’m going to share a few ways you can incorporate it into your own everyday lifestyle.

Deep Conditioning:
Massage a few tablespoons of coconut oil into hair and leave it overnight. Can’t do overnight? Easy. Massage in the oil and wrap your head in a warm towel for a couple of hours. Shampoo out and feel your hair turn silky smooth. How you ask? Coconut oil rebalances the hairs proteins and its small molecular structure penetrates the hair shaft to moisturize and protect against environmental damage.

Frizzy Hair:
Take a tiny (smaller than pea-sized) drop of coconut oil and rub it between your palms. If you have curly hair, run your fingers through it and scrunch. If you have straight hair, just smooth over the top of your strands gently.

Face and Body:
If you rub a little bit of coconut oil between your hands, you will immediately notice how incredibly moisturizing it feels on your skin. It will also help remove dead skin cells, removing any rough or flaky texture from your skin’s surface and giving you a full body glow.
Mix equal parts coconut oil and body lotion together to create an ultra hydrating cream, and apply it right when you get out of the shower. You can also add essential oils like lavender or vanilla to scent your oil, but many people love the natural, tropical scent as it is. The best part about this oil is that it will absorb into your skin without feeling oily or greasy.

Shaving cream:
Use coconut oil instead of shaving cream. This will help smooth hair follicles for a closer, smoother shave.

Acne:
Mix some coconut oil with a bit of nutmeg and leave on your blemish for 10-15 minutes, then wash off with warm water.

Eyelashes:
Using an eyelash brush or comb, brush onto eyelashes to boost their growth and pigmentation.

Colds:
Rub a little bit of coconut oil on the inside of your nose to help you with runny noses, allergies and sore nostrils from blowing your nose.

Cooking Oil:
Coconut oil is different from most other cooking oils and contains a composition of fatty acids. Coconut oil consists almost entirely of Medium Chain Triglycerides.
These fatty acids go straight from the digestive tract to the liver, where they are likely to be turned into ketone bodies and provide a quick source of energy.
Plus, ads a bit more flavor to your cooking and it tastes great!
